CROFT Race Recap: 1st Racei didnt put much practice into this track during the week and it showed... Once i got a few tips from Roy during Official Practice i was able to put together a decent lap but i had zero consistency so i qualified 5th and then pretty much rolled around by myself most of the time and ended up 5th... (zzzzzzzzz) 2nd Racei was slotted 5th for the rolling start and had a great start gaining 2 positions (i love rolling starts) into 3rd and within 2 -3 laps and then i was in the lead pulling away from 2nd & 3rd, and led for quite a bit all while trying to be consistent and not have an off and sure enough i have an off but i knew GOV,Roy & Exer were comin up fast.. I held Exer off for a few laps but had another slight off and he got by me. Next came Roy who got by me without much effort which left me in 3rd with a few laps to go. i said to myself as GOV was trying to get by me if i let him go i will lose only 1 more point and not get any weight added for next week = (SCIENCE lol)... so GOV went by and he gets the 1 extra point and the additional weight for next week to total 110 kg (ouch) ... Even though there are a few instances here and there, this league is turning out to be a great thing, now if we can get everyone to show up at the same time it would be EPIC!!! thanks again to all of you who show up every week...

Looking at the lap times on the practice server the race is going to be close fought. The penalty weight really hurts on this one. But looking forward to the race

fat bottomed girls you make the rockin' world go round. i was asked last night why my car was constantly throwing sparks up on the track that eventually started a fire in the bushes on the back straightaway... ANSWER: got fat chicks in my car The Track Owner sent me a bill for their Fire Department Efforts to put out the fire... Finally joined the 27 club (1 time) this race will be a barn burner...

Race Grobnick recap
Free Practice; During the week a server was up for everyone to have a bit of practice. During that time I saw a few people doing 1.27 laps. Great, were it not that offline I was doing 1.26's but online I struggled to get mid 27's. Could it be the 30kg penalty weight? Hmmm, This was going to be a hard fought race. One note however. Gov was really struggling with his 110kg. 1.5sec off pace, ouch.
Qualifying; Having seen Exer do a 1.27.04 in free practice had me thinking I had to do at least the same. Eventually did a 1.27.2 which still gave me pole. Nice... It was close though.
Race 1; For a chance at the win I knew I had to make sure I got to the 1st corner 1st. Not easy as the start is a bit slower with the +30kg. Exer had 0kg. Time it to perfection and try not to have wheelspin... And it worked! Got through the 1st corner 1st and never looked back. In the mirror I saw 2 guys fighting for 2nd but I was slowly pulling away from them and after an uneventful race, except for a little scary moment when our friendly Polish fella decided to go offroading right in front of me. Anyway, a win for me. And as icing on the cake, a 1.27.04 lap.
Race 2; This was going to be hard. Starting at the back of the field is never easy. A rolling start again. Deadeyeski had the front row for this one so he was going to give us the GO signal. Due to a glitch JoseSwervo got disconnected and the AI decided to do weird things with his car. This had Deadeyeski confused and almost forgot to start the race. Exer wasn't waiting around and just floored it at the moment Deadeyeski passed the start/finish line. This had me reach the 1st corner dead last. And then it happened... A big pile up... (in the replay it shows the pile up wasn't that big) No way to avoid it, and as a result I picked up a bit of aero damage at the front. Don't know exactly in what position I came out of the pile up, but there was nothing I could do but drive to the best of my ability. It's mostly a blur from then on, because I have no idea how I managed to get into 2nd after a good few laps. This had me on the tail of Ron. Now Ron had already showed in the first race that he's fast, so I had to be patient and see where I could pass him cleanly. An added difficulty is that we both had high(ish) pings which made our cars jump around on the screen a bit. Next laps were a show of good racing by the both of us as we both were smelling the sweet scent of succes. After a few laps Ron lost a bit of speed going through turn 10. This gave me the chance to get a good draft on the back straight (that isn't straight) getting alongside him and having the better line into turn 14 (the 180° lefthander). That gave me the lead. Now just stay calm and just try to do fast consistent laps. Ron was able to stay very close for a good few laps but made a small mistake 2 laps from the end. This gave me the breather I needed. And it gave me win n°2. I have to say that racing with Ron was great! Clean and hard, the way racing should be all the time! Cheers Ron!
Next up, Ledanon. Never raced there and there will be 60kg extra in my car. Not sure what to expect
Thanks again for hosting and having me at the races. CU guys next week for sure

first race saw bad for me, i did too many mistakes, second too at first (I had some crash with one guy but I dont want to say nothing, , all good) and then i manage to drive without any errors, and got good place at the end btw nhf, but I see some people are not pratcicing at all.. they are super slow on track.. I mean, i dont have problem with that, but I dont see any fun in that from their point of view, where is fun to get overtaken by 4-5 laps during race? hardrivenrcyes, i didnt practice much but i know this track very good (its croatian), so it was ok, just couldnt get to 1:27:0xx in qualy, dont know why.. BTW, yes i had great rolling start at 2nd race, same moment when dead said gogogo i floored it... b

No offence, but how the hell are you guys 1sec a lap faster? Best I can do is 1.28.100 Unless, you guys are not keeping 2wheel within the white lines. Naughty naughty And it's not the extra weight Anyway, no more time for practice before Saturday, so i'll just have to live with it

Naughty naughty And it's not the extra weight Anyway, no more time for practice before Saturday, so i'll just have to live with it i thought the same thing when i first got to the track, but after experimenting with a few corners and or sections i found there are a few spots that you can really carry some speed in... this track is very difficult to get around fast and be consistent... as far as the weight, well it really hurts up the hills, but seems to not really hurt the handling very much, i found i wasnt turning in soon enough on some corners and that would kill the lap times.. as far as not keeping the car in the white lines.... there might be a little bit of this going on but not as bad as one would think from what i have seen or done so far... this is NOT permission to fully take advantage of this, i will post rules for this track.

Well, I was thinking earlier where I was losing time, and I have the time down a bit. Did 2 or 3 laps on the server and did a 27.8 I think. Fully legit BTW. Ron was a witness. Knowing myself come Saturday I'll lose another 0.5 seconds. Though it's funny seeing You going for the defensive so fast

I am not sure you can get 4 wheels over the white line without hitting one of the very solid tire barriers. It is a momentum track for sure. I like it quite a bit, sadly I won't be there Saturday due to some family engagements with the in-laws. Why oh why couldn't this week be Joesville? Have fun guys.

I know from historical fact that there are certain rules by certain people in this league that were broken time and time again. And I am not accusing you of this, so don't take it that way. Unless those rules are actually enforced, there is no fair race that can take place. I just hate it when I am questioning my own laptimes.. and I can't figure out where I am losing time. I then find out there are people 6-10 feet off the race track cutting corners. ... and no one says anything....

It was ment as a joke in the direction of JoseSwervo. If you would have been online during the races (and on TeamSpeak), especially during the fun oval races, you would know that I sometimes joke around. For me these races are for fun and relaxation, no more, no less. And if I would have made a remark regarding you, your name would be in the message. So please, don't be offended

gov , In-laws? There is a solution for that. Divorce... To bad you won't be in this Saturday's race. The win will not be mine this time. Somehow I can't get the feel of the track. In fact, I think I found my "Brands Hatch Indy 2" And Joesville, yeah, not sure why that one is chosen. Sure an oval that is a bit bigger would have been better. Top gear on this one 4th... Not sure it can be called a racetrack. But we'll have to get through it I guess

ok guys.... this is getting a bit out of hand... i know this whole covid situation has put a strain on ALL of us (myself included) but lets try and remember why we all come here... to race, have fun and make friends. lets try and keep it civil and not take anything as a direct finger point at you. Roy, i got the joke and i laughed (its all good)
as far as ANYONE (myself included) getting mad about a game, i want to remind you that its just a game, (i had to remind myself that last week) we joke around, talk some smack or whatever, its all in fun... Brooke, you have been around since the WGTL / SpeedRacin days... the rules were pretty much the same as they are now and if nobody complained then of course nothing happened... then once certain people started constantly complaining, James and i had to review EVERY CORNER of EVERY RACE from EVERY DRIVER... it took days to do that and it sucked that some people were getting so competitive that they would report the smallest thing (not you Brooke).. but once we started handing out penalties, ect we lost almost half our group because they would argue in the forums with he did this, he did that, while alot of times doing the same thing they complain about... i dont want to lose ANY of you because you are all great people on and off the track (im questionable, lol)... Lets use this as a learning tool and move forward to bigger and better things.
P.S. we have a 24 slot server now, please try and recruit some of your friends/relatives/enemys lol.....
This league has always been run on the HONOR system where everyone should police them selfs accordingly to the league rules, then if a complaint is issued i look into it and go from there...
i am NOT condoning cutting the track... the rules are posted in the forums for this particular track. use it to your advantage or not, that is your decision... i post this stuff in forums so the rules are the same for everyone in theory in hopes to avoid this or ANY miss understanding(s) in the future... i do appologise for not posting rules for Grobnik last week, i totally spaced it out amongst other things and hopefully i didnt ruin anyone elses race but my own..
IF ANYONE HAS AN ISSUE WITH SOMEONE ELSE ON TRACK, OR ANY QUESTIONS OF HOW/WHERE TO DRIVE ON THE TRACK FEEL FREE TO SAY SOMETHING TO ME, I THINK IM PRETTY FAIR WITH MY DECISIONS FOR THE LEAGUE IF ANY ARE NEEDED...
OK, lets get back to racing and having fun again (per this threads name)

Hey Roy... i just watched the replay from the Goodwood race and it looks like your car is smoking the entire race.... loose oil line? lol ill try and post the replay b4 the race tomorrow... 2nd race? Yeah. Kinda rubbed paint with GOV, then went rallying, hit the barriers and from then on my left front, right front and left rear tyres were rubbing against the body. The right rear felt it was being left out, so it decided to join the fun and started rubbing the body too. No oil was burnt during the whole race. I'm an eco-friendly guy

The Ledanon races... Free practice; During the week the server was up. It soon became apparent I was slow on this track. I seemed to be a full second off pace. Wait what? A full second? What was happening here? Now I don't claim to be the best driver in the world (not in public anyway) but a full second off pace... Weird. I clearly was doing something wrong. And despite having 70kg extra on board, that couldn't be it as JoseSwervo had 60kg and was being way faster than me. Now I didn't have a lot of time this week, so I needed a solution to the problem fast. Had a good look at the replays of my laps and found where I was losing time. Calculated I could be 1.2 seconds faster. So went out again. 1st lap, found 0.5 seconds. Decided it was a confidence thing and left it at that. During the rest of the week I did a few laps online and got my time down to a 1.27.2 Good enough. On raceday I wanted to see how fast I could do a lap without the 70kg. A 1.26.0 WOW! Now I hate the penalty weight Qualifying; Don't know how, don't know why, but I just couldn't get a good lap in. Stranded 2nd... Race 1; Starting with a car that is 60kg heavier than the one on pole again was not looking good. I knew I had to get through the first 3 corners in 1st. If not I would have to wait for Brooke to make a mistake as overtaking a car that has the same speed on this track is virtually impossible. Anyway, had a good start and got alongside Brooke, but he had the inside line for the first corner, so nothing I could do but slot in behind him. Made him nervous on the first few laps, but had to keep an eye on JoseSwervo as he was keeping up with me. Then after a few laps the weight of the car started to affect the tyres and Brooke could pull away. Very uneventful race, but a 2nd place is still OK. Race 2; Reversed grid and rolling start. Ernie was to call the Go signal on the start finish straight. It went down perfectly. Had a good start. Managed to pass JoseSwervo but then got blocked by three guys tosseling for position. Did not want to get involved in that, so backed off a bit. Saw a gap, went for it, but then Stash had to swerve to avoid Craigh Thomas and in the proces pushed me a bit wide. No problem. As a result Craigh was beside me and had the inside line for the next corner. Gave him more that a cars width room, but he seemed to have missed his brake point by a few yards. Leaning on my car to get through the corner. Again, no big problem. Then on the run up the hill I had had better acceleration than Craigh gaining the insideline for the next corner. Craig clearly saw me and in turn gave me a bit of space. However being focussed on Craigh I did not notice Stash (who was in front of me) had to slow down more than expected to avoid Ernie. This had me run into the back of Stash. My fault for sure. Looked at the replay and if I had noticed him slowing down more than normal it probably could have been avoided. As send by PM, Again Stash, SORRY. JoseSwervo took the opportunity to pass me at that point. Anyway, next up was Ernie. Ernie was a bit of a loose cannon as he did not have the time to practice on this track. Lost some time behind him which gave JoseSwervo a breather. Ernie clearly aware of his slow pace cleanly left the door wide open on the straight to let me pass. Cheers. The rest of the lap was spend catching up to Deadeyeski. Caught him on the last corner. Scott (newcomer) made a bit of a mistake on that same corner which had me going in between him and Deadeyeski on the straight. But then coming up to the first corner Deadeyeski took the line where I was sending me into the red tyres. Not good for the car (Deadeyeski apologised after the race) Skidded across the track, but luckily the guys behind were able to avoid me. "Slightly" damaged car had me do slower laps. Had no idea what position I was in, but JoseSwervo was about 5 seconds in front of me. The chase was on. The remainder of the race was spent trying to close the gap to JoseSwervo, but there simply wasn't enough time. Result, 3rd I think. Now if I did the math correctly the end result has 3 of us on the same points. Brooke a 1th and 4th, Me a 2nd and 3rd, JoseSwervo 3rd and 2nd. Donut should get the win because of his 1st place. As for JoseSwervo and me, the stewards can work that one out themselves Again a fairly enjoyable race. Thanks guys

1st race at Ledanon was really good. Had a decent start and was able to get by CraigT. We battled the whole race/ Eventually Mck8 joined in on the mix. We all took turns making small mistakes here and there and exchanging places. For a little bit, I was in front of them. I must have been the last one to make a small mistake, and they got by. The last little bit, I did my best to drive right, but I could not catch back up. It was very enjoyable.
Race 2, not so much. Syarting near the front, I have to be aggressive, and very defensive to try and hold on to any position I can. Cause eventually the fast guys will get right by.Instead of easing off, and letting Roy go, I thought I could hold on, for just a bit longer. Maybe thinking he would back off into turn 1. We both wanted a spot on the track that he already had. As we got to turn 1, I turned down left on him. The hit didn't seem that big, but it sent me off into the dirt. Lost all those positions in one corner, instead of over the entire race. The rest of the race was not much better. I felt so down and couldn't focus and kept making small offs here and there. At the end of the race Roy said he ended up hitting one of the tire stacks, and I felt even worse.
To take myself out, is fine, but to do it to someone else is stupid. If maybe I was actually competing with him, I could understand. But being so much slower, with a slower car, and an old PC, I should drive smarter than that.
On to Joesville. This should be...different?

deadeyeski Like I said yesterday, no hard feelings. Mistakes will be made and we try to learn from them. BTW, You're still free to fight for a position, no matter how big the difference between the cars is. Now if you were to be lapped it's a different story

wow, i guessed i missed alot of stuff on the track and not having watched the replay (yet) theres some good race recaps in here, thanks guys... ROY: #1 yes, confidence in pushing the car harder than you thought it could was key here for speed and good lap times... this reminds me of the SpeedRacin league alot of us were involved in back in 2008-2010 where we raced this exact track in the middle of the season in a similar type of car. (Skoda's). this track showed a lot of people how hard you really can push there cars and was evident here for some also... #2 who is DONUT??? Ron? rpenn32? or am i missing a joke? #3 about the stewards making a decision? i am assuming you are talking about when multiple drivers get the same amount of points for the night... The answer is it goes to qualifying position(s) that is how the lucky winners of more weight get their prize(s) so if you qualify 3rd and got the same amount of points as 2 others, you would get 3rd place weight = 10 kg. after the last few weeks of CARnage its refreshing to see appologies and calm, cool replies... although i gotta say something and this is for EVERYONE... Stash has been a major part of helping and running this League for us from day #1... when i watch the replays, almost EVERY race he has been taken out by many different people (including me sorry again buddy) and until last week he has not said a word and i give him cudos for biting his tongue since race 1.. i guess my point being, i know we are not professionals but like the IRONMAN rules state drive an opponent as clean as you would expect them to drive you clean and... it is the faster cars RESPONSIBILITY to make its way around a slower car WITHOUT INCIDENT... i see a BIG difference in the ways people drive against "ME" or pass "ME" than the way they do against others... NOT COOL... That being said please give the guy at least a half of a break so he can finish a race... EVERYONE PLEASE RE-READ THE RULES SECTION AND IF YOU HAVE ANY CHANGES OR SUGGESTIONS YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD OR DELETE, PLEASE TELL ME... OK im done bitching, lol... On another note, Stashes team & sponsors have dropped him for poor performances due to being taken out so much (the Danica curse lol). But there is Good News!!! Stash has already secured a new team and sponsor...

Race #1 qual 3rd.... ended up 3rd... no challenges = ZZZzzzzZzZzZZZZzzzzzz Race #2 started 3rd from the rear... rolling start and it got Sketchy going into the turn 1,2,3 so i backed off and fell to the rear of the pack. going down the 1st hill cars got together and wrecked.. (ill be addressing this later) the turn after the 1st up hill my spider senses were tingling and DOINK!!!! cars got together and i went from 9th to 5th sneaking by with inches to spare... then going up the front straight with the 2 fast guys on my tail Roy swerved to miss the tire stacks and i guess he slightly hit them and then BOOM!!! it looked like Brooke hit the tire stack at full speed (OUCH)... im sure his car was toast after that as i never saw him in my mirrors again... Roy had fallen back with his swerving manuver and that allowed me to pull away while passing the remaining front guys Ernie, Dead and Scottonce by them, i was gone ---------------> halfway thru the race i began trying to cool down my tires and Roy would reel me in and then he would cool his tires and id pull away... that was how it was for the rest of the race... had fun, thanks guys... Joesville will be interestingly awesome i think... after watching the replay from Ledenon, i am highly disappointed in the way some of you drove ... be fore warned... im not putting up with that kind of B.S. and if it continues you will force me to become a BIGGER ASSHOLE than i already am... PLEASE BE COURTEOUS TO YOUR FELLOW DRIVERS, I EXPECT YOU TO DRIVE OR PASS OTHERS AS CLEANLY AS YOU DRIVE AGAINST OR PASS ME...
