Race #2 video1st off i want to remind everyone that was a fun run, but at the same time there does need to be some driving courtesy involved with each other... Hmmmmmmm, looks like he knew he couldnt catch up so he held back to race with you?? there is an unwritten rule that we go by, if you take someone out, you wait till they get going again, even if it makes you lose a few spots in the process... i understand your frustration Scott, it was NOT a league race so it did not effect your points hit me up in discord or teamspeak sometime... ZVONIMIR... whats up? watch the video... what do you have to say about this?

Yes that was after the finish line thats something i have allowed at the end of League races for possible good video footage, but this wasnt a league race.... it is a little out there from someone you dont really know or been around a lot racing... would love to hear what he has to say... P.S. Scott, i havent even bothered to watch the replay, dont feel the need to... is there something you wanted me to do about it? im not sure where this post is going... like i said, im usually in the IRONMAN TeamSpeak or Discord channels (sometimes both) come chat sometime

I wanted to do a full race report but wanted to wait a couple of days to cool down. When I got done with the video I should have done the report and then shared the video. I don't think anything needs to be done. I guess I was just blowing steam, because I was frustrated.
The slogan to my Youtube channel is "A bad day at the track is better than any day at work". I always try to make the best of a bad situation. If end up at the back of the pack, I just put my head down and try to put down as many clean laps as I can.
In RC racing the results sheets would have a break down of your race. Total time, average lap time, and then increments of 5, average top 5, top 10 and so forth. So even if I had a bad race I would shoot for making those number look good. I kinda miss that in SIM racing. I thought those were pretty cool stats to look at.
I'm the new guy here and I don't want to ruffle any feathers. I try my best to drive respectful. In fact that is why I joined a league to get away from those yahoos on the open servers. This is racing and sh!t happens

Ok so basicly Admin was righ..
First race was OK.. but i got bored at second race (not many people etc) and bad start, few spins etc.. so i ended at the end with him..
and since i knew that both of us cant catch noone in that last few laps, i just wanted to race with him... its boring if you are alone on track and you dont see anyone, plus its fun race!
Sorry for that one hit, its my fault, but everything else was on purpose (waiting for you etc)... i think that is allowed. OFc, i wouldnt do that in real race,every position matters...
Seriously i thought that you knew that its just a game beetween of us, im sure that anyone who is racing longer in this league would know that... but you are new so ok..
NHF, it was just a playing... , you got penalty and few mistakes, then I waited for you just to make it more fun for both of us.. etc.. so all good

NOO. i didnt wanted to harm you, just to race with you. thank you for your honest reply Zvonimir i kinda figure thats what was up and glad it was just in the name of fun and boredom... i honestly dont think ANY of our drivers would do this in a malicious way, if i did they would get the boot from the league...i recently booted a so called personal friend (racism dont cut it in my book) so i pull no punches when it comes to this league, jus sayin... lets all be friendly and keep the racing fun... 1 more fun run race and then the NEW season starts... hope you guys are ready... (im not lol)

Riverside was a bit of a mess for me. Practice and qualifying i seemed so slow, and I made mistakes constantly.
Race 1 I was able to gain a few positions. I gathered up any spots that I could when the drivers in front had an issue. Finished 5th or sixth. But the most important thing was I drove very clean. I had no spins or big offs into the grass.
Race 2 started bad. I was pushed off the track through the first corner/kink. I did not get to the esses to mess up anyone else's race. Turns out by the time i recovered, everyone else had done that already.
I picked up whatever pieces I could and once again I drove very clean. No big offs. Feels good to drive a clean race. I was not fast, I got lapped.
Great to start a new season with a new car. Can't wait for the next one. Spa is bit different track.

Soft Tires! Yeah they work. As long as you don't travel backwards up Eau Rouge. They don't cool down from that very easily.

SPA AAAaahhhhhhhhh SHITi never have any luck but bad luck at SPA in all of my sim racing career and this last race was no exception... QUAL: was last out of pits and spun comming out... hit reset... came out in a hurry and spun at end of front straight, hit wall reset... 3rd times a charm (not)... got a penalty on 1st timed lap and got a "NO TIME" came around again and got another penalty finaly had a great lap going and i ran out of gas on back straight... ended up with "no Qual time" and had to start last, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee RACE #1 Started last and got a good jump on the start riding the hell out of my clutch pedal and made up 2 spots... by the time we got to the front straight the fast guys were gone!!! i had fun working my way thru traffic and made it to 5th at the end so not so bad of a 1st race at the track i hate... RACE #2 It sucked from the second i clicked into my car, which was apparently no fast enough and it sent me to the pits to wait for my controls to be unlocked 30 seconds later... this caught me off guard as i could not see the Starting Lights and had NO idea when the 1st group took off so i had no clue when to start the 2nd group countdown, then i heard the 1st group rolling by the backside of the pits so i started the 10 second countdown, better late than never...the 2nd group went by as i was still sitting in the pits ... i finally got going, was pushing hard and taking chances in every corner to catch back up (bad idea) ... ended up spinning and smacking the wall many times throughout the race... ended up 8th glad its over, i hate SPA!!! NEXT ----->

Spa was not that great for me.
Race 1 I did as expected. Nothing too thrilling.
Race 2 was all over the place. I started off by trying to get by Ernie in the first corner, and I got into the side of his car of course! I feel like we were all just talking about this sort of behavior?
Luckily we didn't go crashing all over the place. Then had a good 4 way battle for the first two laps. Eventually Brooke got by me.
That's when i got my first lap cut penalty. To clear it i had to slow to 21 mph which is very very slow. I got upset. Then it seems either on purpose or just by accident every time i went through the same corner, I got the penalty again. I was really upset. I did bad.
On to the next one.

The Glen
Race 1. Well For the most part I found Ernie all race long. It seemed we caught each other in all the wrong spots. I managed to finish last.
Race 2. Maybe things went a little better? Till around lap 2. I went off in the bus stop chicane. If the car had no damage, I managed to go off in every corner until the first corner of the next lap.
I gathered up what i could. I "held off" Jose for a little while and he got by eventually. Then I went on for the rest of the race.
Off to the next one!

First race: was going good until I was going into one and all of the sudden, it was like another car hit me in the rear and spun suddenly. It was very weird, but probably just me making a mistake.
Second race: Was going good, went to make a pass for 2nd and got punted into the wall in turn 1. Was able to regroup and catch Ron and Exer and they had a tangle and got by.
Had a good time. People are starting to get worked up over stuff and it takes the fun out of things. I take time out of my Saturday night to go racing and have fun. If it is going to turn into a gripe fest and yelling every weekend, I will have to find another way to spend my time. Lap cars are fine, the guys that are getting lapped are doing the best they can and they don't need a faster car running them off the road just because they are slower.

WATKINS GLEN RACE RECAP did major practice at the track all week and just could not figure out where i was loosing the time from the faster guys... all during qual time i was in 4th behind G ROCK and on the last lap i ended up pulling a rabbit out of my hat and qual 3rd... RACE #1 Started 3rd behind GOV and Exer had a few good laps in tandom with them and Exer spun in the bus stop so i moved to 2nd but the very next lap i got a tank slapper in the bus stop and smacked the wall hard, car was bent and fell back to 3rd. a couple laps later had another issue with my car being bent and surprise!!! i spun again. At that point all 4 tires were RED HOT and i could barely hold on from spinning again as it took a whole lap at 3/4 speed to cool them down. With all the spins i moved up and down the leader board several spots as it seems most everyone had issues at some point in the race... started 3rd - finished 3rd RACE #2 the start was a bit odd with the grid that got scrambled but we pulled it off... 10 second head start and .......... GO!!! Led into turn 1 and a few laps later i caught the slower group and managed to get a few of them in between me and the rest of the faster guys and started to slowly build a gap from them. then it happened "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK" (sorry i broadcasted that guys) My pedals turned completely sideways on me under hard braking into the 2nd to last turn and i spun and hit the wall really good (never happened b4) now i had to finish the race with pedals sideways trying to scoot them back with my feet while driving and i just kept spinning and crashing. In hindsight i probably should have taken a few seconds to get up and fix them to their right spot, probably would had lost a lot less time. Finished 7th.. im beginning to think these cars dont like me...

Laguna Seca
Practice i was so slow. With not many drivers this weekend, I thought I would be starting last. Somehow during qualifying I put together something better and I started mid pack.
Race 1 I did really well in. I was able to get a spot or two from others mistakes. I did not make any big offs or crashes. Brooke was able to get back by me. I ended up finishing fifth!
Race 2 the starting order was a little messed up. I think those who were not able to finish the last lap were put behind the field. This meant I started in third. I tried my best to keep it going from race 1, but not so lucky. I got on the gas in a bad spot through turn 5 and spun hard towards the inside wall. I got passed by a few drivers. And then the faster guys got by me. To add insult to injury, I had a small get together with Jose. I thought i would get into him coming out of turn 3, and I ended up spinning. Grrrrrrrr.
I feel I could have done better. I forget who it was, but they made a comment that everyone did so well this weekend. I think we all have run so many laps on this track over the years. We all knew it, just had to drive it clean.
I will be away the next few weekends. I will practice with you guys during the week though. I will miss out on some cool tracks.

LAGUNA SECA RACE RECAPQual 3rd , this seems to be a permanent spot on the grid for me lately. Ill take it.RACE #1 Started 3rd and on the run down the front straight to turn 1 Scott got his nose under me a little and we touched and it made me a bit loose, but i was able to hold on and take the spot back plus 1 more runnin hot into 1 hitting the red curb and i thought i was gonna take the whole field out but i saved it and ended up in 2nd. As the lap continued i tried to keep up with GOV, be he had twin turbos, a 100 shot of nitrous and a blower goin and proceeded to leave me and the rest of the field in the dust... a few laps in i had a small off and ron was able to pass me and i followed him for a bit then he had an off Brooke got by when i had another off, i felt like a kid playin with a light switch, on off on off on off, in the end i finished 4th... RACE #2 We gave the slower group a 15 second head start and this seemed to work well as the slower group wasnt so slow in this race and it took almost half the race to catch up, but of course i had an off and was waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy back, i drove alot of the race by myself lots of fun... NOT!!! i fought hard and worked back up to 5th for the finish.. i like these cars but they dont like me...

V.I.R. Race Recapthis is probably my most favorite track and it showed. i practiced all week and was almost 1 1/2 seconds faster than 2nd place. i was having sound issues up until about 6:20 (my time) which left me about 10 min for practice. qual time came and i ended up fastest surprise... Race #1 i knew if i didnt have any offs i should win the race and so when the race started, i took the lead and led every lap with GOV riding my back bumper the whole time. By the time 1/2 the race was over GOV had figured out my line and the only thing from keeping him going by was he had more restrictor penalty and it really showed on the long straights. i kept him at bay and then on the last lap going into the esses i dropped a tire off and then missed the turn going thru the grass. I ended up cutting thru the grass in the 1st turn of the esses so i slowed to let GOV by and not get a penalty for gaining time and/or positions. what a terrible time to do this stupid move and of course GOV gets the win... But it was super fun racing that hard, nose to tail all race long... Race #2 started in the back with a 10 second headstart for the slower group. took the green and going into turn 1, the left side of my steering wheel came off the desk and i drove straight into Brooke.... sorry buddy, i couldnt help it... by the time i got my wheel back on the desk right i was probably 20-30 seconds back but i didnt give up and it seems some of the guys had a get together and i was now on their tails... i ended up fighting back to 5th... that race sucked, but i guess it could have been worse... on to Willow Springs....

welcome to Cobys personal journal lol... WILLOW SPRINGS RACE RECAPThis track has some very odd shaped corners that catch you off guard, making getting around the track a Mother F#$@# and then there is the Super Glue Sand on both sides of the racing surface... at first it felt impossible to find ANY reference points for braking, turning, accelerating... after 2 days of going off several times for what seemed hours a day with only a handfull of good laps in between was really sucky... Day 3 of practice: i finally discovered a building in the distance and then, a slightly different colored mark in the barrier and then the magic happened when i found a few tumbleweeds, lol... i finally found the line!! QUAL i ended up 2nd on the grid so i had a good chance for a win since GOV was not there and according to the QUAL lap times my only competition was Brooke & Gary... RACE #1 Started 2nd and got the hole-shot for the lead into turn 1, Ron fell in behind me and then Brooke and Gary. Going into the hairpin Ron got loose and so did Brooke allowing Gary to sneak in there and make it crazy chaos in my rearview mirror, good job guys for not wrecking. i pretty much ran the 1st half of the race un contested but noticed Brooke got back by Ron and Gary and was dancing around in my mirrors here and there. i was trying to save my Left tires and not push to hard so i had some left at the end if i needed them but this allowed Brooke to slowly reel me in and get close, then it happened in the last turn of all places, my LF tire barely touched the Sand and away i went into no mans land ------> i got back on track and only Brooke had gotten by me and i continued on pushing really hard and discovered a new trick for the last turn that allowed me to really come off it fast for the front straight and turn some 13's (good info for race 2) RACE #2 there was only 7 cars that showed up for the night so the 10 second (non-penalty) head start was for just me and Brooke... green flag the 1st group goes and i have NO clue as to what racin is going on with them... 10...9...8...7..6...5...4..3..2...1 go we take off and Brooke lets me into the lead in turn 1... we go a few laps and the i spun in the middle of the hairpin, Brooke had nowhere to go but T-Bone me (not his fault)... this pushed my car up towards the outside wall facing the wrong way and i found out the hard way that these cars dont turn very sharp in small spaces. and dumping the clutch did nothing in the super glue sand... it took me doing a 4 point turn trying to turn around in that area without getting a penalty and as i finally made it back onto the track the 1st group had at least 1/2 a lap on me.. to my surprise around the next corner Brooke was sitting there waiting for me great gentlemanly gesture ... i raced around with Brooke on my trail for the rest of the race i think i ended up 4th? Mck8 got his 1st win, congrads buddy ....
