I left Ostroda, Poland when I was just about 7 years old. I am blessed to have memories of it from childhood, and the times we have visited our family on vacations back home. I can still recall walks along the lake front with my mom, feeding bread to the swans when they were around. I tell my wife, if we ever get old, I would love to go back there.
This is a promotional video of the area. The family signing in front of the "boat'' is my first cousin, and her husband. I think they are also in the footage of the old red brick fort. Both of those are landmarks of Ostroda. The footage shows some drone shot of the old red brick fort and the lake near it. In that shot, you can see a big hotel with a red roof, and a soccer field on the far side of the lake. The house I grew up in is on the other side of the wooded area.
